Argentina Fifth largest wine country in the world, Argentina has to deal with scarce rainfall and depends on irrigated vineyards for survival. The Mendoza region alone accounts for two-thirds of Argentina’s total wine production. There are more than 30,000 growers in this predominantly red-wine area. Argentina is concentrating on quality over quantity. Their finest may soon rival the best of North America.
