    A great value for everyday drinking. Complex with notes of leather, spice and cherry notes. Medium body with a great finish.
     
    GMS 2009 Schild Estate Australia $15
    This blend of Grenache-Mourvèdre is soft and features red berry fruit with modest touches of cocoa and leather. Supple and round and meant to be enjoyed young.
     
    Grüner Veltliner 2008 Pichler-Krutzler Austria $15
    On the fresh side with some rich texture, this is a finely balanced wine with smooth flavors of pear, mango and ginger with a grapefruit finish.
     
    Malbec 2008 Lopez Noceti 1919 Argentina $12
    A great Malbec for the money. Concentrated and complex with graphite, plum, prune, and blackberry aromas. The palate is heavy but correct and the primary flavors of berry and plum are prominent and finish into fig and chocolate.

    Great quality at a fair price. Sweet black plum and graham cracker bouquet and a lush deep palate. Spicy on the finish.

    Light and juicy, with fresh apple flavors and good acidity. Serve slightly chilled.
     
    Pinot Gris 2008 Waterbrook Washington $13
    Bold and fruity with tart lemon and ripe pineapple notes. Finishes with ripe sweet banana and papaya flavors. A good alternative to Chardonnay for those who like fruit over oak.
     
    Pinot Gris 2009 Innocent Bystander Australia $15
    Marked by modest apple and pear fruit on the nose, this is a richly textured but dry example of a Pinot Gris. It's not complex but fills the mouth with ripe tree fruit.

    This is all pure savoy fruit without the influence of oak. It has good ripeness and acidity resulting in a crisp wine with intricate lime and spice flavors.

    An interesting blend of Monastrell, Syrah and Tempranillo, it has a nose of black cherry and raisin while the palate is lush and deep with concentrated cherry, cassis and roasted plum.

    This is Riesling at an amazing price. Big, round and fruity but in an off-dry style. Loaded with Meyer lemon and ripe pineapple flavors. Finishes with honey and peach.
     
    Riesling 2009 J. Bookwalter Washington $15
    An interesting style with good density and about 1% residual sugar but the sweetness doesn't show. Compact fruit flavors of lemon, orange, candied pineapple, and pear.

    An underrated wine with low alcohol but wonderfully fragrant lemon, honey, tea, and orange flavors.

    Wow, what a bargain. If you can still find this vintage, you will enjoy a bone-dry, tartly crisp, minerally wine with pleasant citrus, floral and peppery spice flavors.
     
    Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Douglas Green South Africa $10
    Vibrant, tart aromas of green gooseberries and lime rind elevate the underlying hay and fresh thyme herbality.
     
    Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Dry Creek Vineyard Sonoma $15
    As dry as they come and rich in Meyer lemon, kaffir lime and pineapple flavors, with intense, zesty acidity for clean balance. The finish is spicy.

    Dry and racy with delicious citrus fruit, lemongrass, vanilla, honeysuckle and spice flavors. A great price.
     
    Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Justin Paso Robles $15
    One of my favorite wineries and a great New Zealand style Sauvignon Blanc. Dry and acidic with flavors of lemons, limes and grapefruit and a touch of minerality.
     
    Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Kenwood Sonoma $13
    Made in a wonderful dry, crisp style, it has a lighter fruit profile of lemon, lime and grapefruit with a mineral finish. Enjoy as a sipper or with roast lemon chicken.
     
    Shiraz 2009 Callia Alta Australia $9
    Some heat on the nose but has solid berry aromas. The palate has cola, black cherry and roasted plum flavors. Finishes thick and spicy.
     
    Shiraz-Grenache 2008 Razor's Edge Australia $12
    Fully ripe and verging on jammy with raspberry fruit and touches of vanilla. Picks up a nice dusty spice, cocoa and coffee notes on the finish.
     
    Syrah 2007 Laurent Miguel France $14
    A decadent Syrah with flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, fudge brownie, and coffee ice cream. Lush and creamy but not overdone.
     
    Syrah 2008 Domaines Paul Mas France $9
    There's a nice violet floral backbone, adding character and personality. Juicy red fruit and berries abound with accents of bay leaf and vanilla.
     
    Syrah 2008 South Ridge Paso Robles $15
    Soft and delicate and a good beginner's Syrah. Dry and full-bodied with interesting flavors of blackberries, sweet leather, bacon, red licorice, herbs, and black pepper.
     
    Syrah 2009 Babcock Santa Barbara County $15
    The label says Syrah but it's a white wine (actually golden copper color). Very dry and wonderfully crisp with complex waves of sour citrus fruit candy, spice and mineral flavors. A compelling buy.
     
    Tempranillo 2006 Bodegas Franco Españolas Rioja $12
    A nice, floral, medium-bodied Rioja with flavors of berry, plum and mildy chocolaty oak.
     
    Tempranillo 2006 Bodegas Valdemar Crianza Rioja $15
    The nose has a blast of sweet coconut and then black fruit aromas. Mild acidity leads to flavors of plum and raspberry fruit.
     
    Tempranillo 2007 Altanza Capitosa Rioja $15
    Dark and powerful with rich black plum aromas. Balanced with a mouth of dark fruit flavors of blackberry and bitter chocolate.
     
    Torrontes 2009 Alamos Argentina $13
    Full on the nose with ripe, floral, lively aromas of gardenia, lychee and melon. The palate has notes of melon, soft apple and spice.
     
    Verdejo 2009 Analivia Spain $11
    Nice and fresh with floral aromas of apricot, apples and minerality. Palate tastes of apples, tangerine and pineapple flavors.
     
    Viognier 2009 Domaines Astruc France $12
    Aromas of white peach, pear, sweet pea and ginseng tea with honey. The palate is full and ripe with stone fruit flavors.
     
    Viura 2009 El Coto Spain $10
    Good, clean and pleasant with pure apple and pear aromas and a hint of vanilla and powdered sugar. Lively apple, white peach and green banana flavors.
     
    White blend 2008 Hey Mambo California $10
    A nice blend of Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Canelli, and Chenin Blanc, it conjures up pairing with everything. Pleasant flavors of citrus fruits, petrol, wildflowers, grass, minerals, honey and spices.
     
    Zinfandel 2008 Peirano Lodi $12
    Richly soft and slightly alcoholic, it has a sweetness to the cherries and chocolate that's almost Port-like. A great barbeque wine.
