Michigan

Michigan has a long history of growing American grapes and more recently, a variety of hybrids. It has a surprizing number of wineries, which stretch from Tabor Hill near the Indiana border, to the Traverse City area over 200 miles away. Lake Michigan has a positive climatic effect on the area.
