Wine Regions

Given the fact wine-making has been around for thousands of years, it would not surprise anyone to find out that nearly every country has some type of grape agriculture devoted to the production of wine – either for personal consumption or commercial use. It may; however, surprise people to know that now, all fifty states in the United States have a commercial winery with the recent license being issued in North Dakota for a federally bonded winery.

This lesson plan has tried to make it easy for the wine novice to better locate and understand the largest wine regions around the world, and included a few facts about their production. As you click through the listed links, you will find information on the most common grapes and wines, production figures, and recommendations of both premium and value wines for you to try and hopefully enjoy. If you have some additional information from your country or state that you think I should include, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
